A supporter did a bit of homework:

It is pretty clear that the current Council has a prevalence of groupthink and could benefit from the addition of some divergent thinkers. Inserting 1 or 2 new members is unlikely to change this phenomenon, and yes, track record is a valid measuring tool that all current and future councilors should be called to defend. The next bit of data mining should focus on votes from the finance committee and the various other sub-committees, but is likely to tell the same story. This year let's ask tough questions of our candidates especially on their track record, not just the campaign promises.

New voices needed for Accountability

Elect Accountability.

Elect someone who will take the job seriously and represent your needs, which are surely not represented when there is so much groupthink:

Transparency Matters.

Neil Godbout wrote an excellent editorial on current Council’s decision to post legal notices only on their website, at city hall, and social media: https://www.princegeorgecitizen.com/opinion/editorial-the-city-of-prince-georges-ongoing-campaign-against-transparency-5922107

I have enjoyed the humour of the City’s new communications person, but it’s important to remain impartial especially during an election. I challenged them on it and the person didn’t seem to see the problem with the tweet below.

My take on it? Suspend City Council meetings during the six weeks prior to an election unless there is an emergency.

If you want City Hall to be more accountable, vote for new people, it is the only way to

hold Council accountable for their decisions.

When you go to vote, please take your family members with you, remind your friends.

Let’s Build a Thriving City

Let’s become a city of “Can do”

On October 15th you have a choice.

We continue on the same path, or we become a true northern capital- by electing pro-business and pro-industry-minded individuals who believe in Prince George’s vast potential.

Make your choice count on October 15. CLICK HERE to see where you can vote.

A local business owner said “Prince George will always exist because of it’s location.”

Is that all we want?

To exist? To simply “get by?”

Let’s build a thriving city:

A city full of the happy sounds of children and their families

enjoying the parks, trails and beauty that surrounds us.

A downtown everyone wants to visit because it’s beautiful, walkable, and pleasant.

A city that makes it easier for our wonderful arts, cultural and community groups to thrive.

A city where people can build their businesses,

Where careers are made.

Where homes are affordable.

A place with excellent health care for young and old.

A vote for Trudy is a vote for a thriving city.

Some of these are simply attitude changes.

Some of those ideas cost money.

How can we afford the things that are part of a thriving city?

By becoming a city with a Mayor and Council that says “Yes!” and has a “Can do” attitude.

Let’s say “Yes” to becoming a city where it’s easy to start and grow a small business.

Say “Yes” to growing a small business into a medium-sized business.

Yes to grow medium-sized business into big business.

A place that encourages the opportunities all around us.

A city that supports local and regional economic development,

whether in mining the essential materials needed for electrification,

in the natural resource sector,

in the many secondary manufacturing opportunities available to us,

or in continuing our role as leaders in the forestry, lumber and secondary manufacturing of wood products,

or whatever innovative idea a new business owner has.

A vote for Trudy Klassen is a vote for:

for a Councillor that in unafraid to lead with a positive vision for our region,

We don’t have to merely exist. We can become a thriving city, IF we elect a Mayor and Council with a

“Can do,” pro-business, pro-industry attitude.
